Nursing Home Fun

One night last week we had the chance to watch Jack for a few hours.  He was a lot of fun.  The kids are old enough now that they enjoy playing together.  At one point, Kate, Linc, and Jack were running laps around the main floor yelling, and I do mean yelling, “WE ARE FUNNY” over and over again.  They did actually sit down and all read books for about 5 minutes and they of course had chocolate chip cookies for dessert. :)

Saturday we decided to visit Mike’s grandparents.  We first stopped at the Eureka Nursing Home.  At one point, I took the kids for a little walk.  We went to the sitting area where they have a big fish tank and a bird.  At first, Lincoln did not notice the bird.  But then he did…He did not realize the bird was not INSIDE the cage, but actually on top of it and went running over to see it.  The bird got scared and flew right over the top of Lincoln’s head, at which Lincoln screamed hopping from foot to foot (really quite funny actually) and the bird was over on the floor by some older women who were proclaiming “Bird on the floor.  Bird on the floor.  Bird on the floor.” Over and over again.  We caught the bird and all was well.  Linc continued to talk about it for quite awhile though.  Below Grandma Lydia and the kids were laughing about something.

Next we went on to Roanoke to visit Grandpa and Grandma Gramm who are recovering from some injuries for a few weeks at the Nursing Home there.  Lincoln was worried about the bird coming back.  :)  Below Grandma Gramm is playing with Lincoln and it’s kind of hard to tell, but Kate is jabbering Grandpa Gramm’s ear off as they walk to the cafeteria for lunch.

We left right before lunch, but here they are getting ready for lunch before we left.

Sunday night we went to my parents house and after dinner the current favorite game was brought out.  (Anyone wondering about something they could get Lincoln for his birthday, he LOVES this game…we’d take one at our house, it’s called ZINGO.) :)  IMG_4344
