2nd Annual Sashay for Sacha

With all the talk of the 2nd annual Sashay, I find that the moments of missing Sacha hit more often.  She would LOVE the stage that Crieghton and Jack are at.  But, back to the Sashay.  The 2nd annual walk/run will be on June 2.  There will be a 1.5 mile walk and a 5K run.  This year there will also be music and food.  If you’d like a registration form, please let me know, I’d be glad to get one to you.  The money raised from this year’s event will be used to make some improvements at the Primary/Junior High Baseball Diamond.  Again, I am struck by how blessed I am to have known Sacha.   I’ve said it before, but it is no less true today, I am blessed that she called me her friend.  Please consider coming out for the walk this year.

Busy, Busy

I heard someone recently say that the end of April and May are the new December and I thought, “What an odd thing to say, the end of the school year is nothing like December.”  AND THEN, I started writing down the end of the year programs, and field trips, and awards ceremonies and I have to say, I agree whole heartedly with that statement.  =)

The boys have really gotten into wrestling and playing hard with Daddy.  They are hilarious to watch and I just shake my head at why boys like to do stuff like that.  =)  Here they are spinning in circles one evening.

Kate and Lincoln had their award ceremony to celebrate a year of memorizing their Bible verses thru the Awana program at church.  I only have a picture of Lincoln because Creighton had a complete meltdown and I had to leave before Kate got her award.

Thanks to my friend, Angee, who graciously kept our two boys for the day, I was able to go to the circus with Kate and her kindergarten class.  I have great admiration for kindergarten teachers!  The pictures are rather poor quality, but you get the point.

One of our 2012 resolutions has been to try to spend one night a month doing something fun as a family.  This month we went out to dinner at Culver’s and then to look around the Bass Pro Shop.  The kids loved it.  Lincoln was hilarious.  When we walked in the door he went, “Oh wow, there are just so many ‘whoa’ things to look at.”  Kate loved the fish tank.

Lastly, Sunday Kate and Lincoln were in a program at church with the 2-6 year olds.  Lincoln dressed up as an elephant for one of the songs.  They did a great job.  =)  Kate is in the back row in the orange shirt in the left hand picture.  Lincoln has on the gray mask in the middle of the right hand picture.

Catch-Up :)

We’ve had a lot going on lately, but I’ll share a few pictures from the past few weeks.  We celebrated Lincoln’s 4th birthday here a few days early, since we would be in Minnesota for his actual birthday.  He picked pony shoes for his birthday meal, which is hamburgers, topped with french fries and cheese sauce.  He got moon dough from Kate, and new golf clubs from Mike and I.  He is so excited to go golfing with Mike.

On Friday, we left to spend Fri-Mon with our good friends, Russ and Beth, in MN.  We were treated as royalty and it was fun to spend some time with them.  The kids played great together!  Beth even made Linc a birthday cake on his birthday.  THANKS RUSS AND BETH!!

Kate wrote this story on the way there, I will try to translate it.  =)

I am a girl and my name is Kate.  I trust in the Lord and I make lots of mistakes and I don’t always obey.  I am a kid and I listen to music.  I am on a visit to Minnesota to see some friend and I am in the car and I have sparkly shoes on.  There is a lot of stuff we packed for Minnesota.  My brother is sleeping.  Dinner is going to be in 5 minutes and me and my brother watched a movie and then I colored and wrote a story about my life and I read it to my mom and dad.

This past weekend we celebrated Tessa and Lincoln’s birthdays here at our house.  Lincoln again requested cheeseburgers and chocolate cake.  Thankfully Aunt Tessa is pretty easy to please and was ok with that.  I misplaced the candles that I had bought, so we had to improvise with toothpicks.  For the record, toothpicks don’t work that well.  =)

Spring Break and Early Easter

A few weeks ago we had Spring Break.  It was a beautiful week and we spent a lot of it outside and doing a few special projects.  We made shamrock pretzels for St. Patrick’s day, made cross collages, and played a lot on our neighbor’s super fun new swingset.  Mary and her 3 kiddos even spent one morning with us.

At one point in the kids’ lunch, it got really windy outside and we had to move the picnic inside.

Bryce, Lincoln, and Creighton enjoyed a “boys” morning and ate lunch in the tree house and more swingset fun.

Creighton is an exhausting child these days.  Sometimes I feel like he follows me around destroying things and all out leaving disaster in his wake.  =)  He is so smiley and happy (most of the time) though that it is hard to get too mad at him.

In the bathtub picture, he actually went and jumped into the bathtub with Lincoln with his blanket and fully clothed.  He loves to empty the puzzle cubby, dump all the kids games in a big pile, and he even knows that he shouldn’t play with Kate’s little dogs, so he puts them up high.

We celebrated Easter with my parents over the weekend.  The kids made empty tomb rolls and enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt.

I tried to get a picture of the 3 amigos in their matching Easter clothes…..it did not go that well.  =)

Creighton really only cared about the part of this project that included eating chocolate chips.

Kate was so speedy I couldn’t keep up with her to get any pictures of her finding eggs.

One last picture of the master mess maker after he spread Easter grass all over the family room.

Hope you all enjoy this Easter weekend spending time with family and friends and being thankful that Christ died and is risen again.  Praise God.
