Mr. & Mrs. Nic Rassi

After my 3rd e-mail requesting wedding pictures, I decided to take pity on my faithful 3 readers and update the blog. Nic & Amanda's wedding weekend was beautiful. The weather was AMAZING, especially considering that it rained all the days leading up to it. Everything went really smoothly and it was a beautiful wedding and reception. Thanks to the Wenger's for ALL your work. There are a LOT of pictures to follow and I admit they are mostly pics with my family in them, so if you want to see more, e-mail me and I can send you the link to the other pictures I have from the weekend.

Girl Party

This past week was really busy, yet very, very few pictures. I wish I had taken more. In celebration of Amanda, we had a girl party to celebrate her friendship before she marries Nic. Here is the group of fun girls we had at our house last Friday night. Kate would really like "the fun girls" to come back...I assume this to mean Kate, Mari, and Amanda, who each spent some time playing with her. :)

Other events worth mentioning, Nic & Amanda got some painting done on their new home last week and got a lot of the big stuff moved in on Saturday. We're excited to have them so close (30 minutes).

The kids had a rough week...they were...just apparently in the mood to have a defiant week. It was barrels of fun (insert sarcasm). For those of you (GRANDMA'S) who seem to doubt that their precious grandchildren could ever be defiant...here's an example from each kid. :)

Kate: After she was disciplined for sitting on top of Lincoln said with a huge sigh, "Whew, that wasn't SO bad."

Lincoln flat out refused to pray for his supper. So, he didn't get his supper. I asked him about every 2 minutes if he was ready to pray to which he emphatically declared, "No." At one point, he got mad and had to get a swat. When I brought him back to the table, I asked him if he was ready to pray, he said "NOO." I asked him if he needed another swat and he said "YES." So, he got another. The good news is that when I brought him back to the table, he folded his hands and prayed for his supper.

Parenting...it's not for the faint of heart. :)

Looking forward to a wedding weekend...hopefully it is done raining by Saturday. :)

Lovin' the Farm

One day last week, Aunt Renee watched Lincoln, and Kate and I spent a morning together at the Children's Museum, playing and attending the "Starry Safari" class. She had a great time. Here she is in the car with her giraffe mask and binoculars.

Linc thought he was being a big help by standing on the dishwasher lid and unloading it.

Mike has had the opportunity to help out during harvest at Schmidgall Farms. We've even gotten to take a couple of combine rides. I'm not sure who loves it more, Mike, or the kids. :) Thanks Uncle Randy and Duane!! Sorry the pics aren't that great...moving, plus windows, plus night time, plus small spaces....not a great combo for taking good pictures. :)

ILLINI Game

For Mike's birthday in September, I got him tickets to a U of I football game. Then it started raining and the Illini were losing.....fortunately, our tickets were for last Saturday and not only did it not rain, it was an exciting game to watch, and the Illini even won!
Nic and Amanda went with us. It's not that great of a picture, but the only one of all of us from the day.
It was the first time that Illinois had beaten Michigan at home since 1983, hence the "Illini fans party like it's 1983" on the scoreboard. :)
Many thanks to Nic and Amanda for going with us and to Brett and Tessa for watching our kiddos for the day!! Being the amazing aunt and uncle they are, they even took the kids trick or treat-ing....THANK YOU!!

Halloween

Two peas in a pod, these two girls. Too bad they waited to discover that until now. :) For about 6 months they fought so bad Beth and I had to keep them separated, but now they are the best of friends.

Kate was a tiger for Halloween

Linc a giraffe

Don't mind the garbage, we were cleaning at the JK Shop. :)
One last pic of Beth and I before we are residents of different states....of wait, this is the only pic of us anyway. :)
