Boating Season

 

A few more t-ball pictures.

One afternoon my kids were eager to make a little money, so I put them plus a neighbor or two to work.  =)

 

How many kids will actually fit in a sandbox?

We took the boat out this past weekend for the first time.  It was an adventure, to say the least.  I’ll spare you the details.  =)   The kids did really well for the most part, especially considering it ended up being kind of cold in the water when the big clouds rolled in.

Anya did good playing on the floor and watching the action.  She did get a little worried when Mike was tubing with Creighton. 

 

We got some beginner ski board for the kids this year.  We weren’t real sure how to use it.  =)  Mike ended up going out on skis beside them and they actually almost got up.  Maybe next time.

  

 

Thanks to Dad and Mom for venturing out with us and for having good attitudes when we had to limp back home!

Watching the Turkey Festival Parade

She loves to eat! :)

Kate is getting better and better at her bike.  However, we are still working on not riding down the middle of the street, so a big thanks to all our awesome neighbors who keep their eyes out for her.  :)  (While she did start out where all this safety gear, she has deemed it no longer necessary)

 

Kate’s last day of 1st grade – very strange!  While she does do much better at matching, some days…… =)

 

One evening I received this picture via text.  At first, I thought, “What weirdo got my number and is texting me creepy photos.”  Turns out, I know this guy.  =)

Anytime there is a break in the rain we head outside. Creighton got to hold this little puppy recently.  She sat right on his lap and he said, “Oh, she wubs me.” 

 

I’ve said it 100 times before, but we live in a wonderful neighborhood.  The kids are so close that they actually fight like siblings.  =)  We even hang out together at night sometimes.  The rain caused our recent family movie night to be moved in to the garage.  We missed those of you who couldn’t make it.

       

Last but not least, this girl LOVES to eat.  The other night I was trying to get her to eat some baby food.  She refused to open her mouth and whined and carried on until I gave in and let her have a piece of pizza. 

 

Preschool - Check

We are busy checking things off of the end of the school year calendar.  This past weekend we marked off another thing, Lincoln’s preschool graduation.  After 4 straight years of taking a child to preschool, we have decided to take this year off.  Creighton will only be doing preschool for one year, instead of 2.  I’m looking forward to having two kids on the same schedule next year, as it’s been years since that happened.  It will be years until it happens again, so I’m going to enjoy every minute of it.

Mrs. Frey is absolutely an exceptional teacher, in my opinion.  I never saw her in a bad mood and I stand in amazement at anyone who is able to be so happy to spend every day with 20 preschoolers.  Lincoln and Kate have absolutely adored her!

Anya is really turning into yet another spunky child.  She is getting really picky, she will take her bottle or baby food if nobody else is eating anything, but if she sees other food, she thinks she should get that.  The problem with this…she has no teeth. :)  She is quite opinionated when you do not give her something on your plate.  Mike was holding her while he ate some ice cream one night. 

She whined and whimpered and reached for his ice cream until he gave in and let her try it.

Then, when he wouldn’t let her have any more….

Mike and I have been trying to take the older two kids out for breakfast periodically for some one on one time.  Saturday was my turn to take Lincoln.  We went to Casey’s and ate donuts and chocolate milk and he was delighted. 

I thought this collection of papers that Kate brought home from school was cute.

Last night we celebrated Mother’s Day and Brett’s Birthday with my family.

Never a dull moment in this house.

Water Fights, Baseball, 60 Years, and Baby Griff

One afternoon last week, the kids broke out the water guns.  My phone was a near casualty.  B snuck up on the kids and soaked them after one of these pictures, I wish I had the picture right after, but I was trying to save my phone from the water that was a flyin’.  :)

 

I had the opportunity to help with Field Day at the Primary.  I had the job of filling buckets for all the water games and pretty much soaking whomever I wanted.  It was great fun.  :)  (Thanks for the pics, B.)

   

That evening we had dinner with some friends and Creighton had refused his nap.  This can’t be comfortable. :)

Saturday, Kate and Lincoln had their first t-ball game.  Don’t know what Lincoln is doing??

That night we split up.  Kate had earned a ticket to the Peoria Chief’s game for reading a certain number of minutes.  So, Mike, Kate, and Lincoln went to the game and fireworks afterward.

  

I forgot that before that we attended Caleb’s graduation party, Congrats, Caleb!!

While Mike and the older two were at the game, Creighton and Anya and I attended my grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary Party!!  This just blows my mind, but Happy Anniversary again, Grandpa and Grandma.  What a special thing it has been to watch your godly example of marriage over the years!  A few of my cousins dressed up in my grandma’s wedding dress and wedding suit, and my grandpa’s army uniform and wedding suit.  A few songs were song, a skit, memories shared, it was a fun night!  When we walked and saw the dessert table Creighton said, “Oh my!  Happy Birthday to Creighton!”

   

Sunday we got to meet our new lil’ nephew, Griffin Edward.  He’s super cute.  Congrats Greg and Mary!
