Now there is a title we don’t often have and this story may actually not be that funny to anyone else, but when Mike and I realized what had happened, we got a good laugh out of it. Last night Lincoln insisted that he needed to sleep in his new bed, rather than his crib. He got out a few times, which I completely expected to happen. Around 10:30, I (Carmen) thinking both kids were sleeping decided to go to bed. Apparently, Lincoln got out of bed again and went downstairs where Mike was working at his desk. Mike, thinking that I sent him down because he wouldn’t stay in his bed just let him play. At 11:30 Lincoln gathered up his blanket and told Mike he was ready for bed. So Mike put him to bed. Lincoln is currently dealing with some ear infection problems and the beginnings of pneumonia and has not been sleeping well, but he look exceptionally tired this morning. I commented such to Mike at which point he said, “Well, he was up until 11:30.” I said, “What? I went to bed at 10:30 because I thought he was sleeping.” He is currently in bed for night #2 in the big bed, hopefully it won’t take him quite as long to settle down and go to sleep tonight. :)

April/May Birthdays
This weekend we were able to get some bunk beds for Lincoln’s room (Thanks Billy & Lisa!!!) Since Mike got them set-up, Lincoln refuses to sleep in his crib. However, he quickly figured out that he is not confined, so we may have a few rough nights ahead, but hopefully the transition won’t take too long. He looks so little in his “big” bed. Crazy how we moved Kate to her “big” bed at 17 months, partly because she kept climbing out anyway and partly because Lincoln was coming in two months.

Road Trip!
Over the weekend we had the chance to travel to Minnesota to visit our best buddies, Russ and Beth and family. Dawn and Janet were also able to make it, so we had a weekend long Mack Attack and apparently we like each other pretty much, because after all spending only a day together before, we survived a whole weekend together and declared it a blast. We enjoyed a laid back weekend, eating yummy food, enjoying much adult conversation, touring a 5000 cow dairy farm (seriously, never seen so many cows, EVER), and just hanging out. The kids enjoyed playing together and got very little sleep compared to what any of them are used to, but then the adults didn’t get much sleep either. :) Sunday evening Rustin, Sharon, Grace and Travis joined us (see first big pic) and the second big pic is a group photo on Sunday morning. Thank you Russ and Beth for a fabulous time!

Lincoln’s Birthday
This past week was Lincoln’s second birthday. We had fun celebrating with Nic and Amanda, the neighbors, and the Kaiser side so far. Linc continues to be as opposite from Kate as can be. We are really enjoying watching them interact and play together in spite of their differences. Here are a few pictures from last week.

Love it….or Hate it….
I have a love/hate relationship with the sandbox. I love it because it provides Lincoln and sometimes Kate too with long periods of entertainment. Since I have an awesome husband who put a gate on our deck, I can make supper or do any number of things in the kitchen while they play in the sandbox. Yesterday afternoon, I wondered, do I love the sandbox….maybe I actually hate it. :) Here are a few pictures of yesterday’s incident that caused me to question my relationship with our sandbox. :)

Easter
We had a wonderful Easter. We enjoyed spending time with family and celebrating the empty tomb! I didn’t get any pictures of our time with the Gramm’s, but here are some pictures from our time with the Kaiser’s. The kids enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt, dying eggs, swinging, playing, and even story time with Aunt Joyce. Special thanks to Lance and Tori for helping Lincoln and Kate with the egg hunt!

100 Posts
Wow, I noticed that this is my 100th post using blogger. I’m not sure if anyone still reads our blog, but we enjoy looking back at past entries. Feel free to leave comments, we love to hear from people. A couple random pictures: Lincoln’s first haircut at a salon, thanks Tiffany! Plus Linc in his favorite pair of pj’s, Linc again, scowling at the stack of mulch that is falling on him, and I don’t know what Kate is doing. :)
