Lincoln Turns 6!

This boy is so sweet when he’s sleeping.  ; )  He is actually really funny right now, but boy the Creighton/Anya combo is keeping life quite active.  : ) 

This girl ….. she’s a ball of fire and does everything she can to keep up with the big kids. 

 

We celebrated Lincoln’s 6th birthday this week.  Hard to believe we have two kids that old…

  

These two are loving these warm temps.  I literally have to drag them back inside.  Welcome spring!!

   

Lincoln had to stay home from school with strep throat a few days last week.  He took his temp every hour begging to go back to school.  He finally decided he could draw for awhile to pass some time.  : ) He eventually filled the entire board, but I forgot to get a picture of the rest of his work.

Phil & Cyrena

We have had a busy couple of weeks with spring break, a wedding, and many other things.  It’s nice to see the sun shine and start to have a few days that hint that spring and summer are on their way!  Praise God for that. 

The last day before spring break the kids brought home their report cards.  The both got A’s and B’s and Mike took them to the IGA to pick out their own 1/2 gallon of ice cream.  Creighton got to benefit from their hard work.  Kate has had some trouble with math and she worked really hard to get her grade up.  We’re so proud of her and she was so happy when she saw that she had gotten a B that she actually got tears in her eyes. 

We didn’t go anywhere over spring break, but we tried to throw in a few special things.  One morning we went to visit Mike at his “Bloomington work” and then had lunch at McDonald’s.

Dad and Mom R, plus Greg and Mary’s 4 kiddos, made a trip to the nursing home.  Considering we had 8 kids under 8 with us, I thought it went really well.  =)  We did get some looks though.

    

This past weekend Mike’s brother, Phil, got married.  Again, considering the number of kids this involves, it went really well.  There was some chaos and some sickness of varying degrees, but all in all, it was a great weekend and we’re so happy for Phil and Cyrena.

   

I’m really blessed to have great sister-in-laws, even this nutty one.  ; )

 

Messes Abound

Well, with winter sticking around, we’re still trying to find ways to switch it up around here and keep us all from losing our minds.  This has meant me allowing some extra mess, but I’m slowly learning, sometimes the mess is worth the peace. =)

After school, one of the older kids decided to kick it across the kitchen before I had gotten it picked up.  In an effort to be real, I pretty much blew my top on said child.  In hindsight, it wasn’t that big of a deal.  So, I spent an extra ten minutes picking up the flour mess, it really was not worth getting all bent out of shape about.  I’m a work in progress…

Anya loves to eat anything messy, silverware is overrated.

Creighton loves construction.  Here he is poring over the latest edition of Rock and Dirt (gag me).  Then he enjoyed a couple of days being able to be back in his favorite place on earth.  The sandbox.

Kate had a dress up day at school.  She was to go as her favorite Dr. Seuss character.  I didn’t have time to help her.  She’s the dog from the Grinch and she came up with every bit of this on her own. 

 

Creighton didn’t want to be left out of the drawing fun…..fortunately, this was washable, although his face did have an orangish hue for a few days.

My brother recently built a house.  He’s far too humble to let me post pictures of it, but it’s an amazing house and I have to post this one.  Plus I love him and his sweet family in the picture as well!

Lastly, someone got into the cookies….they can’t figure out how I know this!! =)
