I am just going to apologize now for all my “perfectionist” friends. I did not try at all to make the pictures uniform, it was more about putting them on the blog before I forgot everything about the event, so if it will bother you, exit now. =)
We have been thoroughly enjoying this extension of summer. One Friday after school I took the kids swimming because it was still so hot outside. They had a great time jumping in and laughing together.
We have enjoyed watching a family of wild turkeys out by Dad and Mom and Brett and Tessa’s. They blend in with the trees really well, so you have to look close to see them.
Labor Day weekend we enjoyed a visit from Paul and Nichole. I didn’t get many pictures, but have a few from our afternoon at the pool. Thanks for coming!
I am pretty sure it’s been about 7 years since I was last bored. But just in case you thought I might be now with two kids in school…..with these two, I’ve still yet to be bored. =)
Wendy and I ran the Spread the Red 5K. Even though we’ve been running 3 miles 3 times a week for around 2 months, this was the most awful running experience ever. I have no idea why – the heat, the time of day. I alternated feeling like puking and passing out for the last mile I would guess, it was really fun, if you don’t run, you really ought to start. ; ) It is also standard for her to look this good at the end of a run and for me to look like a sweaty beast, sometimes she even busts out dance moves as I struggle to press on. =) (But seriously, way to go Wen, I’m proud of you!)
We were blessed to get to spend the day at the lake with our amazing friends, Derek and Leann. We had such a great day with them. Derek is currently fighting cancer and he and Leann have handled it with so much grace and courage and continue to have faith in God and in His plan for their future. They inspire me and we are blessed to count them as friends. Thank you for a great day, Derek and Leann! I don’t have a ton of pictures because I was in the water helping the kiddos, but here are a few.
