Sometimes I struggle with this blog. I like to keep it up to date because my memory is terrible and sometimes even though I try to update weekly I have already forgotten the reason for the pictures or the funny comments the kids made. However, I also don’t want this blog to ever be something that causes others to think our life is perfect all the time. Add in that a personal pet peeve of mine is excessive complaining and you have a real dilemma. =) So, here is my attempt at “real life” starting with “The Ugly.” =)
The Ugly:
Anya has been having stomach issues and is now on a trial of zantac to see if it helps her at all. We are hoping it gives her some relief from what appears to be a mild case of reflux. We’re hoping it is that and not some intestinal trouble.
Anya is 4 weeks old, so she and I are still bonding in the wee hours of the morning, but she’s sleeping more and more at night, which may qualify this for “The Bad” instead of “The Ugly.”
Anyone who knows my dad and brother knows that they do not have strong stomachs. While I am not afflicted with their weak gag refluxes, I do still occasionally struggle with the gag reflux myself and so I give the below picture a “The Ugly” rating (Dad and Brett, you should not look)

The Bad:
Life is very full right now with all the extra events of Christmas. (That is not necessarily bad). “The bad” part is that I feel like my brain must have surely left my body with the baby, so if I forget to give you a Christmas gift or Christmas card, if I forget to comment on something major in your life, don’t show up at an event, don’t bring the right food, or let’s just be honest, if I forget your name, please be gracious. =) I hope my brain might eventually return.
Enough of that, moving on to “The Good.”
The Good:
Anya is a wonderful baby, even through her random bouts of crying.
The kids all love her and have adjusted well to having her join our family. They love each other too. =)

Anya and I got to go back to church on her 4 week birth date. She has officially survived 4 weeks with her siblings.

The good in our life far outweighs any bad or ugly. We are incredibly blessed and we know it. We find ourselves marveling each day at how much God has given us and how little we deserve any of it. Enjoy the rest of this post as you peek into our life this past week ( in no particular order).

Lincoln can officially read because of his patient mostly patient teacher, Kate. =)

Lincoln is a budding photographer. He walks around taking pictures of Creighton, Anya, and I. Here are a few of his latest.

This is the reason I make the effort to make family photo albums. The kids are constantly looking at them.

Lastly, we want to wish Mike’s Mom a very happy birthday. I didn’t take any pictures from her birthday weekend or the Christmas’s we attended, but it was fun to celebrate Christmas and Kathy over the weekend.
